Bournemouth Meetings Venue - How to get there
The Venue
We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at
‘The Retreat’, Bournemouth University, Talbot Campus, Wallisdown, BH12 5BB
The Retreat is on the ground floor of Poole House and is used as a staff dining area during the day. It is set out with tables and chairs in groups but there are also separate seating areas with settees and arm chairs. You can choose to sit with a small group or to sit on your own. There is a serving area where we now provide self-service teas and coffees. There is also a water cooler. In the corridor outside the room is a drinks machine and a confectionery machine – but bring plenty of change!
At most meetings we have a table of books and leaflets on a range of relevant subjects. These can be borrowed at no charge.
As you come in to the room there is a table used as a Welcome Table where we ask you to sign in (part of the fire regulations). The first time you attend a meeting we would also like you to fill in a simple form to provide your contact details and answer a few questions.
How to get there
The University complex is just off the A3049 (Wallisdown Road).
Turn off Wallisdown Road at the University Roundabout on to a road called Fern Barrow.
Turn almost immediately left into the Visitors car park. This is a Pay and Display car park but only until 6.00pm. So you should be able to park for free. There are usually plenty of spaces anytime after 6.30pm.
There is ample parking and disabled access.
Once on foot walk back through the car park and turn right towards the main building.
Go into the University buildings by the Main Entrance. This building is known as Poole House
The Reception desk is on the right and the staff there will give you directions to The Retreat. If really necessary you can ring the Reception desk on 01202 524111.
Go right across a cafeteria area and through a double door
The Retreat is on the left at the end of a corridor.
