Tuesday, 20th June 2017, from 7.00pm
at The Coffee House Community Cafe in Canford Heath
Welcome The DAAS Voluntary Directors, Carole, Julie and Diane invite you to attend an informal evening at this new but welcoming venue, for a relaxed opportunity to meet up, share ideas, exchange views and put the world to rights ! (See below for full address.) NB We will be returning to our usual location at Bournemouth University for future meetings.
Refreshments: Available from 7.15pm. Coffee/Tea with biscuits.
Voluntary Donations A suggested voluntary donation of £1 per head includes refreshments and will contribute towards the hire of the venue.
(c 7.30pm)
  • DAAS AGM on July 18th. Please make sure you have renewed your membership so you will be eligible to vote at the AGM and make your views known. Application Forms and Renewal Forms will be available at the meeting or can be downloaded from our website. http://www.dorsetadultaspergerssupport.org.uk/member-intro
  • Draft DAAS Leaflets. Have your say on the proposed new design (Many thanks to Elaine Seyd for her professional input)
Main Event (7.45pm) The cafe provides an excellent opportunity for us to make good use of that time which we usually limit to about 15 minutes after the Main Event ie. there will be the chance to circulate, chat, seek advice or offer help and generally catch up – for the whole meeting. Plus there will be a few table top games etc.
Sensory Table. Sara Gouge has kindly offered to host a sensory table with examples of some of the products she finds helpful. If you have your own favourite sensory items feel free to bring them along to let others know how they help you.
The website for the Coffee House is http://thecoffeehouse.eu/ but please note that as DAAS is hiring the venue for the evening we will, unfortunately, not be providing a food menu, just our standard teas, coffees and biscuits. Although if anyone would like some volunteers to sample their own baking products that should not be a problem ! We would particularly appreciate help tonight with the refreshments (and washing up)
Directions The Coffee House is at 10, Adastral Square, Canford Heath, Poole BH17 8SA. It is in the corner of the small shopping centre and there is plenty of free parking in the car park behind The Pilot pub. Bus Routes 5 & 6 from Poole bus station stop at The Pilot but please check the timings.
Note for first-timers At DAAS meetings you are welcome to join in and take part but you are also welcome to just listen & observe – whatever is comfortable
Can you help? Many thanks to our volunteers who already help in running DAAS meetings and to those who have recently offered to take on some of the support roles. If you would like DAAS to thrive and prosper please think seriously about what you too can do and let Diane, Julie, Carole or Steve know if you are able to become more involved.
