Main Event (7.45pm) This evening we will be trying out a new format - A 3 Way Symposium. Don’t worry, this isn’t anything highly intellectual or demanding! Various dictionary definitions of Symposium include: a collection of opinions expressed by several persons on a given subject or topic; a meeting for the discussion of some subject, especially a meeting at which several speakers talk on or discuss a topic; and a social gathering at which there is free interchange of ideas. So this is something we can all take part in - even by simply listening and learning. There will be three groups: A Carers table; A Topic table; and A Social or Games table. Steve has set the 1st subject for the Topic Table as “The Best Thing That’s Happened So Far This Year.” but you will be free to move on to other topics as the mood takes. So do please come and join us for what promises to be a lively and enjoyable evening.
And finally ..... Time after the Main Event to circulate, chat, seek advice or offer help and generally catch up. Volunteers appreciated to put the room back to rights this evening.
Note for first-timers At DAAS meetings you are welcome to join in and take part but you are also welcome to just listen & observe – whatever is comfortable
Can you help? Many thanks to our volunteers who already help in running DAAS meetings and to those who have recently offered to take on some of the support roles. If you would like DAAS to thrive and prosper please think seriously about what you too can do and let Diane, Julie, Carole or Steve know if you are able to become more involved. Examples of areas where there are opportunities to show practical support will again be available at the meeting.
